The announcement comes at a time when many in the wider area have been saddened by recent closure announcements in the hospitality trade, making the news a welcome boost for the local scene.

Sharing their excitement online, the pair said the takeover is something deeply personal, with both having grown up visiting The Welcome Inn themselves.

They said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to say we’ve taken the leap and taken over The Welcome Inn!

“We’ve had quite a few messages after dropping that little clue, so we think a good few of you caught on!

“What makes this even more special is that we both grew up coming to The Welcome Inn and we’re so excited to bring it back to life and make it great again.

“It’s going to be a place for everyone: not just holiday makers, but all our wonderful locals too.

“We’ve been working hard behind the scenes planning all sorts of fabulous things and making sure everything is just perfect for opening day.”

Lennee, already known locally for his work as a DJ across Skegness for nearly six years, says the pair have big plans to make the venue a lively and welcoming space once again.

The couple have hinted at entertainment nights, community events, and a refreshed atmosphere designed to put the pub back at the heart of Skegness social life.

The takeover will be warmly received by many regulars who will be hoping the new management can build on the pub’s reputation while adding their own modern twist.

As the doors prepare to reopen under new ownership, there is a growing sense of optimism that The Welcome Inn could once again become one of the town’s key meeting places.
