Commissioned by the parish council and constructed by Sports Surfacing Solutions, of Bingham, it is located on the village’s playing fields next to the village hall and cost about £90,000.

It features floodlights for use during the winter months and a court marked out for 5-a-side football, netball, and tennis; it is hoped that organised leagues – particularly for the football and netball – will take advantage of the facility.

Once officially opened, it will be available for casual use during the day with organised teams being able to pre-book the area via the village clerk for official matches (which will take priority).

The surface is not suitable for roller blading, cycling, or skateboarding, due to its porous surface. Other restrictions listed on a notice board at the site.
