New Year message from the leader of West Lindsey District Council, Coun Jackie Brockway
As 2025 comes to a close and we look ahead to the future, the leader of West Lindsey District Council, has thanked residents for their support and what they can expect over the next 12 months.
Coun Jackie Brockway, council leader, said: “As we look ahead to the New Year, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the last 12 months and to thank the many people who make West Lindsey such a special place to live and work.

“Over the last year, the council has continued to support our communities through a wide range of grants and projects, helping local groups, organisations and volunteers deliver real benefits where they are needed most.
“Across West Lindsey there are so many fantastic people doing amazing work in our communities. It is these individuals and groups who truly make up the places where we live and work, and I want to thank each and every one of you for the difference you make.
“2025, saw a change in the administration at the council and I am proud to serve as leader of the council. Our cross-party leadership was a real moment of change. Together we are working constructively and collaboratively with the shared aim of doing what is best for our residents.
“We continue to work well with our partners, to help upskill our residents for opportunities in new industries such as Step Fusion and the advancement in technologies supporting our Agri-tech industry.
“We also continue to work with local businesses, large and small, recognising the vital role they play in providing jobs, supporting local economies and helping communities to thrive.
“As we look ahead to 2026, we know that Local Government Reorganisation is on the horizon. The Government will be carrying out its formal consultation, and we will engage positively and constructively to help secure the best possible outcome for our residents.
“In the meantime, it remains very much business as usual at West Lindsey District Council, and we will continue to deliver good-quality services for our residents.
“In the coming year, residents will see the roll-out of a new food waste collection service, which all councils are now required to deliver under government legislation.
“We recently held a successful recruitment event to ensure we have the right people in place to support a smooth and reliable service for our communities. Many of you will already have received information through the post on what to expect with this new service.
“In February your new caddies will start to be delivered, ready to start collections at the end of March.
“Finally, I would like to thank our residents, councillors, staff and partners for their continued hard work and commitment throughout the year.”
