Phillipa Buss (22) was chosen from all the entrants who applied to become the racecourse’s ambassador for the venue’s two Ladies’ Days on Friday June 3 and Saturday, July 16.

Now Phillipa is getting ready to face the camera and says she is looking forward to being involved with the racecourse.

“This is so exciting,” she said.

“My grandad loves horse racing so it’s been passed down through the family.

“For as long as I can remember we’ve been going to Market Rasen Racecourse.

“My mum and sister ride horses, but I had a bad experience when I was younger, so I stick with taking photographs of them.”

Phillipa’s first job as the Face of Ladies Day will be to take part in a photo shoot at the race meeting this Sunday (April 10), showcasing the fashion sponsor’s clothing.

Her image will also be displayed on Ladies’ Days artwork, including billboards in the Lincoln, Grimsby and Cleethorpes areas, flyers, posters, print and digital advertising.

As part of her prize package, Phillipa will also be given a table for four people at both of the Ladies’ Days, receive two tickets for ‘Rasen Rocks’ on Saturday, 13th August, starring Jess Glynne and be part of the best dressed judging panel at each of the Ladies’ Days.

“Ladies’ days are one of the great success stories of the horse racing industry, helping to boost attendances for the country’s second most popular spectator sport which attracted six million visitors across Britain last year,” said Nadia Gollings, General Manager at Market Rasen Racecourse.

“These occasions at Market Rasen Racecourse are hugely popular so we are delighted to have appointed Phillipa as our ‘Face of Ladies Days’ in 2016. We were overwhelmed by the number of entries and the interest that it has generated.”
