Ordination history at Caistor Parish Church

Caistor Group of Parishes has a new priest in their midst, with the ordination of the Rev Catherine Wylie.

Caistor Group of Parishes has a new priest in their midst, with the ordination of the Rev Catherine Wylie.

The service, conducted by the Rt Rev David Court, Bishop of Grimsby and Acting Bishop of Lincoln, took place at Caistor Parish Church.

Vicar of Caistor, the Rev Canon Ian Robinson, said: “I am thrilled that Catherine has at last been ordained to the priesthood which had been delayed due to Covid.

“The ordination service was an historic event in that it was the first ordination in the church in living memory and certainly the first ordination of a female priest ever in this church!

“Catherine’s ministry and joyful personality will be a blessing to the churches in the Caistor group and it is a privilege and pleasure to work alongside her.”
