'˜Oustanding' result for care home in CQC report

The Old Hall, in Billingborough, cares for up to 20 older people, including those suffering with Dementia.

Following a visit from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspector, the facility has been graded overall as ‘outstanding’ for the care it provides.

Areas receiving particular praise included the effectiveness of the oversall service.

The report states: “Staff had the specialist knowledge and skills to meet people’s individual needs and promote their health and wellbeing.”

The service was also noted for being very caring, with staff described as ‘warm and patient’.

Home manager Karen Culy said: We are very pleased to say that we have been awarded the ‘Outstanding’ award. Our inspector has told us we are the very first home in Lincolnshire to have been given the outstanding grade and we are one of very few independently ran care homes in the country who have been awarded this too.

“Our aim has always been to have a home from home for our residents and we pride ourselves in the fact that we give person centred care.

It is fantastic news. All of our staff are ecstatic with hearing the news and we just want to tell the world.

She added: “In 2010 the home was failing so I was brought in to turn the home around. With dedicated well trained staff and commitment it’s so good to see the home now thriving and we are delighted to receive the outstanding award. We are aiming to go from strength to strength. All of the staff that work within the home are passionate about person centred care.”
