Tracy Pilcher, Director of Nursing, Allied Health Professionals and Operations at LCHS said: “We understand this may be frustrating for family, friends and patients themselves, but due to the scale and spread of the disease and in line with recent government advice on staying at home, this is necessary for the time being.“Staff on the wards will maintain contact with families by phone to discuss any changes to the patient’s condition and their care plans.

“Thank you for your support and cooperation and for helping us limit the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19.”

• There are specific patient groups for whom exceptions may be made.
