Pedestrian seriously injured in road accident in Skegness

A pedestrian was seriously injured in a road accident near the Tesco supermarket in Skegness.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the collision on Richmond Drive after police received a call at 5.34pm yesterday (Friday)

Witnesses on social media reported seeing several police cars, ambulances and the air ambulance near the incident.

A statement from Lincolnshire Police said: "“We received a call at 5.34pm yesterday reporting a collision on Richmond Drive, Skegness.

“It involved a white Vauxhall Vivaro van and a pedestrian.

“The pedestrian, a man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening nor life-altering.

“The road was closed for a time while emergency services attended, but was re-opened by 11.30pm."

Anyone who saw the collision, or who has dashcam footage, is asked to call 101, quoting Incident 361 of 26th November.”
