People asked to show support for Rasen area theatre

As for all live entertainment venues, this year has been unusual for The Broadbent Theatre at Wickenby.

Following government guidelines, the theatre, which should have celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, has stayed closed for many months during the pandemic.

A spokesman for the theatre said: “The theatre may be closed to the public, but we’ve provided much needed facilities for LADA, a professional panto company to film two of their productions for broadcast to schools across this country and for their partners in Italy.

“We’re undertaking an ambitious re-decorating of the theatre too, and can’t wait to show off!

“On the decorating note, we have lots of pictures and posters to display which need framing - if anyone has any picture frames (approx A3, A4, A5) they no longer need, please email us.”

Now is also the time for memberships to be renewed to support this community theatre.

Full annual membership is £20, which includes participation in all LRP activities and full voting rights at meetings.

Concession membership, at £15, is for seniors, unemployed and students, with a junior membership for the under 18s also available at £10.

A patronal membership, for those who wish to support LRP without taking an active part, costs £10 per year.

New members are welcome, as are any donations.
