“It was hard work but we enjoyed it” is what one Gainsborough photographer said after participating in a 24-hour charity photoshoot challenge.

A team of almost 60 photographers, models, hairstylists, make-up artists and designers spent 24 hours creating beautiful images to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event was held at the X Church, on Ashcroft Road, and involved creating mini sets capturing everything from a man playing the drums to a woman jumping in the air.

And some of the team who slogged it out for the full 24 hours travelled from as far as London to take part.

Organised by Jay Clarke, who runs J.p.c photography in Gainsborough, they have currently raised more than £1,000 for Macmillan Nurses.

Jay, 47, who has been professionally taking pictures for the last ten years, said the cancer support charity is one which is close to his heart.

He said: “I lost grandparents to cancer and I don’t think there is a household in Gainsborough which has not been affected.”

The photographer said that at any one point there was 20 photographers working on the photoshoot.

He added: “Everyone was happy and upbeat - it was something we wanted to do. We all tried something new - it enabled us to express our creativity. It was hard work, but we enjoyed it.

“Without the X Church and Kev Snell, or the models, none of this could have happened.”

He is also looking forward to another charity photography event set to be held in August.
