Plans to convert former scout hut into offices and storage area for plumbing and heating business

Plans have been submitted to convert a former scout hut into offices and a storage area for a plumbing and heating business.

Applicant Roxane Meredith from MJ Services (Lincs) Ltd has applied to East Lindsey District Council (ELDC) for the change of use of a former scout and guide hut on land off Church Road North, in Skegness, into two offices and storage area for tools, plant and materials for a plumbing and heating business.

The plans also include refurbishing the existing toilet, fitting a new basin and a new kitchen area.

The hall was used for scouts and guides until 2013. Since then the building has been used to store items for St Clements Community Church Hall in Skegness.

In a statement, Mrs Meredith said: “There will be two offices with two members of staff usually on site, and the engineers will come to site to pick up materials and drop off machinery.

“There will be no manufacturing on site. We do not foresee any noise issues.”

ELDC will assess the application and make a final decision at a later date.
