Plaque honours Len Medlock

A former Boston businessman who gave more than £1million to the town has been honoured with a commemmorative plaque at the centre bearing his name.

The plaque in honour of Len Medlock was unveiled at the Len Medlock Centre last week by his sister Margaret Sampson, who still lives in the town.

Mr Medlock passed away in 2013, aged 89.

On Wednesday, Margaret was joined by staff, volunteers and service users at the centre for the unveiling. The plaque bears the inscription “Remembering with affection and gratitude, Len Medlock, Benefactor of Boston 1924-2013’.

Margaret said: “We are very proud of him. There are many things he did that a lot of people are not aware of – such as donating money to the hospital and the Stump.”

The Len Medlock Centre, in St George’s Road, is home to a variety of charitable organisations offering support to the local community.
