The Poacher Line Community Rail Partnership (CRP) has been shortlisted for two honours in the 2020 Community Rail Awards, due to be held in December.

The event celebrates the best in ‘community rail’ – a Government strategy, co-ordinated by local CRPs, designed to get residents involved in the promotion and development of local and rural railways.

For the 2020 awards, The Poacher Line CRP has been nominated in the Community Art Schemes (Renewable and Smaller Projects) and Photo Competition categories.

The art scheme shortlisted involved fine art students from South Nottinghamshire Academy and residents at Manor Care Home, in Radcliffe on Trent; the photograph, meanwhile, was taken at the Vintage Festival, in Skegness, in September.

Members of the public can help the group win the Photo Competition by voting at www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/CRA20photocomp. The Poacher Line entry is ‘D’. Voting closes on September 3.

Three stations – Bottesford, Radcliffe and Heckington – were also placed in the Silver band of ‘Its Your Station’ scheme, with the winner due to be announced on the night.

Jo Andrews, community rail officer for the Poacher Line, said the group was ‘thrilled’ to have its hard work recognised, and thanked all its partners for continuing to support the Poacher Line.
