Market Rasen will see a return of the popular pop-up market events next month.

The event will take place in the town’s market place on Saturday, August 29.

To keep within the government’s distancing guidelines, the number of stalls will be reduced, but event co-ordinator Julie Lambie, from MRAG (Market Rasen Action Group), is delighted to see the event taking place.

She said: “It is great to have our first pop-up since lockdown.

“The ones we have held previously were really popular with both traders and shoppers - and this one I am sure will be the same.

“We have all but sold out all the stalls, which is great, and we look forward to being able to hold more of these events as time goes on.”

The market will run from 10am to 2pm and will be operated under a one-way system.

It was hoped to also include a craft market and display of work event in the Festival Hall, but this will not now be possible.

The town council has made the decision to keep the hall closed to events throughout August to allow time to plan for a Covid-secure opening.

The Town Partnership Group is now looking to Christmas and planning possible late night shopping and market events to help boost trade in the town.
