Princess of Wales and Prince George visit Lincolnshire to mark Armed Forces Day
The Princess of Wales and Prince George paid a visit to Lincolnshire at the weekend to mark Armed Forces Day.
Their Royal Highnesses spent time at the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF), at RAF Coningsby, on Saturday (June 27).
The BBMF operates a host of Second World War aircraft – five Spitfires, two Hurricanes, a Lancaster, a C47 Dakota, and two Chipmunks.
It maintains these in an airworthy condition to help commemorate fallen service personnel, as well as promoting the modern day Air Force.
Following the visit, a post was shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ social media accounts, showing footage from the visit.
The post was accompanied with the message: “Marking Armed Forces Day by reflecting on time spent with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby.
“Learning about the extraordinary history of these aircraft and meeting the pilots and engineers who keep their legacy alive.

“A powerful reminder of the courage, skill and dedication of those who serve, past and present. Thank you to all those who have served and continue to serve.”
A spokesman for the BBMF said: “It was a privilege for BBMF and RAF Coningsby to host Their Royal Highnesses The Princess of Wales and Prince George as we marked Armed Forces Day. A day to honour those who have given so much in service to our nation, both past and present.”
