Pupils enjoy success in stage exams

Some 270 exams were taken over a period of two days at the Lisa Jay Stage Institute, based at Woodside Studios, in Grosvenor Road.

These covered disciplines of ballet, modern, tap, theatre craft, freestyle street, disco, musical theatre and gymnastics.

Many students were awarded marks at distinction and merit level, including:

Kinga Kamuda (in freestyle street), Mark Storan (in theatre craft), Macauley Howitt (in ballet grade two distinction and theatre craft grade one distinction), Casey-Jane Barker (in theatre craft grade one distinction), Alex Rogers (in ballet primary distinction), Lily Jayes (in gymnastics tricks and tumbles honours), Ellie Groom and Scarlett Peak (in dance gymnastics primary distinction).

Principal of the Stage Institute Lisa Jay said: “I am very proud of the results and the professional attitude to learning displayed, particularly given the young age of many of the competitors.”
