Year four pupils at the Magdalen C of E Methodist School have been learning about Christian journeys, missionaries and looking at how charity work can make a difference to a local community. The youngsters voted to help out Natureland Seal Sanctuary in Skegness. To do this they held a fun day for all children and parents, with a variety of stalls, games and activities, including a ‘sponge the head teacher’ game and a non-uniform day. Their efforts raised £635.50. Nicky Yeadon from Natureland said: “The money will be used to help with our seal rescue work. The seal rescue year runs from June, when the Harbour Seals start giving birth through November/December when the Grey Seals give birth and up to the new Harbour Seal birthing time. So far for 2015/16 we have rescued 32 pups and we have still got the rest of March, April and May to go.”
