Pupils rewarded for academic achievements

Outstanding academic achievements were recognised at Welbourn's Sir William Robertson Academy (SWRA) awards ceremony.

The post-16 awards saw special guest Wing Commander Paul Moss present the awards and talk about his journey to becoming a pilot.

Joshua Kilcullen, from Coddington, won an award for exceptional performance having gained five A*s and five As in his GCSE exams.

Megan Milner, Emma Sahall, Sophie Corby, Aisha Mamadi and Jazz Brown all received outstanding achievement awards.

Lauren Kerslake, from Wellingore, received an award for her work in the community and her fundraising efforts.

SWRA’s first head boy, Tom Lane, and head girl, Libby Arnold, received trophies to mark their roles, while Emily Andrew and Kieran Howard received sixth form commendations.

The school was delighted to welcome back 10 former year 13 students, who are now studying at university, to receive their A-level certificates.

Head teacher Mark Guest said: “It was a memorable occasion shared with our current and past students.”
