Rasen crafters work behind the scenes on peaceful knitting

The group has recently sent the first three boxes of handmade items to Knit for Peace, who will distribute the items to those people in need, both in this country and abroad.

Knitting group member Christine Scrivin said: “In all, 83 items, including blankets, jumpers, twiddle muffs, cardigans, hats, scarves, mittens and toys are in the first consignment.

“Our thanks go to those who have donated wool, the hard working knitters and members of Market Rasen Lions Club for their help and support.”

Market Rasen Lions Club can accept donations of handmade knitted or crocheted items for inclusion in future consignments.

Knitting wool or finished items can be left at the Lions Club book stall, which is held on Tuesdays (weather permitting) in Market Rasen market place.
