" He again confirmed to us a couple of weeks ago that the status of Granny's Opening has been given by Highways as HMPE (highway maintanable at public expense), which is shown on the list of streets.

"He also stated that this was not as secure as an entry on the definitive rights of way list.

"We asked if he could look into removing the build up of sand at the beach end and he said he will try but could not promise.

"We did point out that The England Coast Path signs still state 'North Shore Golf Club No Access' right across where Granny's Opening should be.

"We are, therefore, asking everyone to remain vigilant regarding the status of this much loved and used path."
