Renewed appeal following fatal collision at Stainton le Vale

An officer investigating the fatal collision at Stainton le Vale last Wednesday, June 3, has made a direct appeal for witnesses to come forward.

The young man who died has now been identified as Jack McLoughlin from the Grimsby area.

DS Emma Ward said: “It is vital that we hear from anyone who may have seen the Mercedes prior to the collision.

“We believe it may have been in Tealby before the collision occurred at around 10.30pm on 3 June in Stainton le Vale.

“The Mercedes was with another vehicle - a Silver Ford Fiesta - prior to the collision.

“Please call if you saw these two cars in the areas mentioned.

“A 17-year-old lost his life as a result of this collision, so we need to understand how this tragedy happened. “Any information you have, even if seemingly innocuous, could help us piece together the events of the evening.”

Police are asking residents in the area to review their CCTV footage if they believe they may have the cars on camera prior to the collision.

Likewise, they are asking motorists to review their dashcam footage as they may hold evidence that is vital to enquiries.

DS Ward added: “We know this is an inconvenience and we would like to thank those residents who have already gone out of their way to assist this investigation.”

A 17-year-old man has died following a collision in Caistor Road, Stainton le Vale.

We received a report of the collision at around 10.34pm on June 3.

The 17-year-old was a backseat passenger in a Mercedes Benz which left the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes, aged 19, and a male passenger, aged 18, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

We are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact us.
