In a letter sent to Horncastle Town Council, the County Council apologised for the short notice.

The letter adds: “These works have been brought forward in our program to enable us to complete the carriageway repairs during the Covid-19 pandemic where there are greatly reduced numbers of traffic movement on the network following the government restrictions and lockdown, thus reducing the disruption of traffic flows as much as possible.”

All signage for the road closure and diversion route is to be pre-set prior to the start date of May 11.

A full road closure and diversion route will be installed by 7am on May 11.
