“I’ve already been enormously blessed by my time here and am really looking forward to caring for its church and people for some years to come.

“I’m especially proud to become the Rector of parishes which have such great community spirit and care for others, demonstrated particularly during these difficult times.

“If you’re the praying sort, I’d really appreciate your prayers for this new phase of my ministry.

“Please be assured of my continued prayers for you, even if you are not the praying sort!”

Originally from Lancashire, Claire grew up in a clergy family before moving to attend Durham University where she gained a degree in Classics and embarked upon a career in buying.

Claire moved to Lincolnshire in 2009, beginning a new career in teaching.

The county has been her home ever since; apart from her two years’ training for ordination at Westcott House in Cambridge.

Claire has particular interests in practical and pastoral theology – fields in which she hopes to undertake further study in the near future.

The licensing service will take place on a date and time yet to be confirmed, with the Bishop of Grimsby and the Archdeacon of Stow and Lindsey officiating.

The position of Rector has been vacant since October.

The previous incumbent, the Rev Steven Johnson left Market Rasen to take up the position of Team Rector of the Benefice of Gainsborough & Morton.

The Rev Johnson was also the Rural Dean and this role has been taken on by Walesby Group Rector, the Rev Chris Hewitt.
