Revesby Country Fair cancelled for 2020 and other Neighbourhood News

This year’s Revesby Country Fair has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic in what organisers have described as a ‘sad but necessary’ decision.

The annual event had been set to return to Revesby Park on Sunday, August 2.

Members of the public who had already purchased tickets will be refunded in full. Traders who had already booked stands will be offered a full refund or the option of rolling over their booking to 2021 (scheduled for Sunday, August 1).

John Roe, chairman of Revesby Country Fair, said: “This is not a decision we’ve taken lightly. The show is a highlight of the summer for so many people and businesses. But it’s the right thing for us to do at this time to keep everybody safe.

Alford Craft Market has a new page on its website (www.alfordcraftmarket.co.uk) and its Facebook page where people can find some ideas to make at home during the coronavirus lockdown.

“We will be adding new links as we find them, making sure all links are to free patterns or ideas and we will try to give a good variety for both adults and children,” a spokesman for the not for profit organisation said.

Member of East Lindsey District Council for Burgh Le Marsh Coun Jimmy Brookes has awarded £250 to Burgh Le Marsh Town Council to assist the community’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The money will be used to help purchase Personal Protective Equipment and cover travel costs for volunteers who are supporting vulnerable people during their self-isolation.

The funds have been awarded through the Councillors’ Community Grants scheme.

Through the scheme, each district councillor has £1,000 to award to community-based projects which benefit residents in their ward. Anyone interested should contact their local councillor – details at www.e-lindsey.gov.uk/councillors
