Scarlett White, aged seven, only started running around three weeks ago but soon had plans to notch up 15 miles throughout the month of May as well as completing a park run once lockdown restrictions have been lifted.

Her efforts have also have the added benefit of raising enough money to give grandmother Nora and her friends in Foxby Hill Care Home, Gainsborough a boost while they are in isolation.

Scarlett’s dad, Dan, said: “Scarlett, Erin and Martha are really missing their great grandma Nora who is 97-years-old and has been in isolation for more than eight weeks.

“Scarlett only started running a few weeks ago but wants to run 15 miles in May which I’m sure you will agree is a challenge for most people who have only been running for three weeks.

“She started running in preparation to complete a park run at the end of the pandemic.

“She came up with the idea of raising money to give Nora and her friends some enjoyment in these tough times.

“She would like to raise money to provide them with something which will help them pass the time until she can see her again.”

Scarlett lives in Corringham, Gainsborough, with her mum, dad, and sisters Erin and Martha.

Dan said: “Scarlett is very close to Nora and is always worrying about her.
