After a successful flooding support and advice session was held yesterday in the wake of the devastation caused by Storm Babet, a second event will take place this week.

Horncastle Community Links held a flood advice session yesterday (Monday) at the town’s community centre for people affected by flooding over the weekend to come and seek help and advice over a cup of tea.

The event was such a success, Horncastle Community Links spokesman Isabel Forrester said, that a second event is being held at the community centre tomorrow evening (Wednesday) from 5pm to 7pm to accommodate people who have been working during the day.

"This is for people all across the district, not just in Horncastle who have been affected by flooding,” Isabel said, “People can come in and seek advice or just have a chat, and we can let them know of any grants or funding they can apply for as quite a few people aren’t insured.”

Representatives of Horncastle Town Council, East Lindsey District Council, and the Environment Agency will be in attendance, as well as Wellbeing Links.

Horncastle Community Links will also be going ahead with their Wellbeing event on Thursday (October 26) where anyone who couldn’t make it to tomorrow’s event can still come along and seek advice on flooding and any other issues they are facing.
