In spite of having to cancel parties at a local restaurant, June and Robert Caborn raised a glass of bubbly with family and friends at their home on separate days before lockdown..

"At least we got to celebrate and enjoy some cake and bubbly," laughed June.

June and Robert were married at Ulceby Church on October 29 60 years ago - and they couldn't believe they had been together so long.

However, the arrival of bouquets of flowers and anniversary cards - including one from the Queen - which were proudly displayed around their living room were proof of their special day.

Not to mention the 60th anniversary cake from their son, Mark, who works at Roman Bank bakery.

Now both retired, June and Robert lived in Ulceby before moving to Burgh-le-Marsh.

Robert was housing officer at East Lindsey District Council for many years and said his career spanned 48 years with local authorities.

June, who worked at Burgh Hall Children's Home when she married, served with the NHS for 15 years before retiring.

They have two children - Mark and Joanne.

When asked the secret of a happy marriage, June commented: "Stay calm and just carry on!"
