Silver celebrations for Rasen salon

It may seem Market Rasen's high street has been all doom and gloom lately with talks of closures, but the town still retains a number of long-standing businesses, some stretching back across generations.

One of those celebrating a significant landmark is hair and beauty salon Total Beauty. Owner Julie Brader, pictured above on the right, started the business in premises at Varlow’s passage, now part of the CLIP training centre.

After four years, the business moved to its current premises in the town’s market place.

“Things are very different to what it was when we started out 25 years ago,” said Mrs Brader, “it is something you need to work at and accept change when it is needed.

“We have had lots of lovely customers over the years and want to thank them and our current clients for all their support.

“I have also had some great staff members too and thank them all, especially Kirsty [pictured with Mrs Brader] ,who has worked with me since she was 14 and undertook her apprenticeship here.”

Total Beauty currently employs four people in the salon, together with a skilled handyman.
