Sir Edward Leigh MP slams government’s face mask policy

The MP for Market Rasen, Sir Edward Leigh, has slammed his own Government regarding the decision to make face coverings compulsory in shops from next week.

The government’s decision was revealed earlier this week, and will come into force on Friday July 24.

Taking to Twitter, Sir Edward said: “Forcing people to wear face masks isn’t the business of Conservatives: We are not an authoritarian party.

“And don’t we want to get people back into the shops? These proposals just don’t make sense for Lincolnshire.”
