Snow leads to dangerous driving conditions near Horncastle

Snow fell in the Horncastle area this morning (Tuesday) and while these sheep might have looked happy, it led to treacherous driving conditions.

According to reports, the A158 between Horncastle and Louth was particularly difficult with snow causing problems on several hilly sections.

Snow is forecast to turn to rain but police have urged drivers to slow down and allow extra time for journeys.

Some back-roads in the Wolds were also reported to be ‘difficult’.

The A158 is, of course, the main access route from Horncastle for people attending Covid-19 vaccination appointments at Louth County Hospital.
