Stan's the man to cook up a Coningsby treat
Corporal Stan Bradder, who works in the Officers’ Mess at Coningsby, finished runner up in the prestigious Armed Forces Caterer of the Year competition.

Hide AdCpl Bradder was nominated by his managers and his citation stated: “His passion and enthusiasm for his profession is infectious and he has earned the full respect of his team of chefs and front of house staff.
“He has helped further develop chefs by arranging several week long placements at the Wintringham Fields restaurant, owned by TV chef Colin McGurran of Great British Menu fame.”
Cpl Bradder said: “I relish the chance to be creative and really show my passion on the plate.

Hide Ad“Being respected by my peers means a lot and it’s great to know I have the backing of them and also of my managers.
“We are a very close knit team at Coningsby and have a showcase of ability. We are entering more and more competitions and the buzz that creates within the team is addictive!”
Cpl Bradder’s passion for competition catering was also one of the reasons he was nominated.

Hide AdWarrant Officer Mick Gargett, from Coningsby’s Catering Flight, put Cpl Bradder forward for the award.
He explained: “Under his guidance, he and three other chefs created four dishes for the ‘We Love Spring’ offer. They produced the dishes in front of a judging panel and all four were selected and were available across the RAF.”
