Richard Anderson has published Quiz of the World, a book he says is unique in that it features 20 questions on all 197 countries and sovereign states around the world.

Richard is a former modern languages teacher at Boston Grammar School, where he worked from 1971 until 2014, and is the organiser of the still-going BGS Quiz Club.

He says of the book: “Having been involved in organising school and club quiz ladders and tournaments for 50 years, I thought that lockdown would provide me with the opportunity to publish a quiz book of my own. As the Covid-19 rules were making travel difficult, I hoped quizzers would like circumnavigating the world in a slightly different way!”

In the 90s the BGS Quiz Club junior team came second in the UK Schools’ Challenge Competition, and in the 80s it sponsored two winning pairs on Blockbusters and won BBC1’s First Class Quiz outright.

Richard is a member of two successful pub quiz league teams in the Boston area and recently appeared as a contestant on Fifteen To One.

Depending on the number of sales, Richard is hoping to make a substantial donation to a local charity chosen by buyers of the book.

The quiz book is co-edited by his friend and ex-colleague Ron Abbott, former head of classics and Information Technology at Boston Grammar School.
