Roxii Emmerson, a Year Five pupil at Lacey Gardens Junior Academy, will be walking from Louth to Belchford on Saturday March 27, a hilly walk with a distance of almost 11 miles.

Roxii was saddened to hear about the Ark’s struggles during the pandemic, and decided that she would do something to try to help the animals.

Roxii’s mum, Amy, said: “She has family [in Belchford] and has often thought of walking that way, so she thought she would do it and try to make a difference at the same time. Her mum and dad are always proud of how much she wants to help others, and what better way than supporting a local cause.”

Donations can be made through her fundraising page, which can be found at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/amy-drewery-2.

Roxii is also hoping to take some item donations to the Ark on March 28, so email [email protected] if you have any items for Roxii and Amy to collect.
