Martyn said that the relative, who asked not to be named, was flown from her home in Holbeach St Marks to Lincoln County Hospital in just 13 minutes, adding: “Whereas it took my parents an hour-and-a-half by road. She is recovering well.”

Joshua initially hoped to raise £70 through his walk but has already succeeded in gaining ten times that – with the total currently standing at £710.

“We are amazed by the total raised,” said Martyn.

“Joshua wanted to pass on thanks to the crew of the air ambulance for all they did to help.”
