Public toilets have been closed in Coningsby and Wragby.....because people keep stealing soap and toilet rolls as part of the panic buying surrounding coronavirus.

East Lindsey District Council says soap and toilet paper has been taken from the toilets in Coningsby.

It’s a similar situation in Wragby with the council saying toilet rolls has been taken.

They add a roll holder and a soap dispenser had been broken.

An ELDC spokesman said: “We’re aware that shops might be running short at the moment but without these supplies we won’t be able to open our toilets.”

In Horncastle itself, supermarkets have introduced rationing on a number of products, including toilet rolls.

Some clubs and meetings have been cancelled while restrictions are also in place at many care homes.

Schools, though, remain open and tomorrow (Tuesday) night’s meeting of Horncastle Town Council is set to go ahead at Stanhope Hall (7pm)

The situation regarding coronavirus is on the town council agenda along with a visit by county council highways officials.
