'The heartbeat of the dealership' - Boston-area business to hold charity football match in memory of colleague
A Boston-area business is to hold a charity football match in memory of a colleague following his tragic death last year.
Drayton Motors will be staging the Ryan Featherstone Memorial Football Match at Boston United’s Jakemans Community Stadium tomorrow (Tuesday, April 28).
Ryan sadly died in December following a collision at Frithville, aged just 28.
He joined the business in 2021 as a sales executive at Kia, later moving to Suzuki, and had proudly been promoted to transaction manager in 2025.

Tomorrow’s event will bring together colleagues, local businesses, friends and the wider community.
Two teams, led by senior leaders from the business, will take to the pitch in what is billed as a ‘friendly but competitive fixture’.
All proceeds from the event will go to Shine Lincolnshire, a mental health and wellbeing charity.
A spokesman for the business said: “We’ve had a fantastic response so far, with strong ticket sales, support from a wide range of local businesses through sponsorship and raffle donations, and attendance from local stakeholders including the Mayor.
“We are expecting a strong turnout from across the community, with families encouraged to attend and children able to enter free of charge.
“This is more than just a football match – it’s an opportunity for the community to come together, remember Ryan, support his family, and raise as much as possible for a very important local cause.”
Kick-off for the match is 7pm. Tickets (priced at £6.50 for adults, free for children) can be ordered at: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-drayton-motors-ryan-featherstone-memorial-football-match-tickets-1984300381858
Donations can also be made via https://www.justgiving.com/page/ryan-featherstone, where the fundraising total has already passed the £4,000 mark.
There, Ryan is described as ‘more than a team member’.
“He was the heartbeat of the dealership – warm, funny, dedicated, and someone who made every day better for the people around him,” the JustGiving page says. “Football was one of his greatest passions (he was a Liverpool fan) and this event is our way of honouring that spirit.”
