Poplar Farm Country Park is on a site between Market Rasen and Tealby and already has permission for 42 lodges.

The latest plan would see the park extend across a road to Hamilton Hill - which sits opposite Poplar Farm - for an additional 22 lodges.

The site itself rises from the roadside by some 19 - 20 metres at its highest, but supporting documentation for the application states it would not alter the existing site levels to any ‘significant degree.’

The previous applications have received a mixed response from local residents.

T he initial phase two plans had to be reduced to 27 lodges before being passed by West Lindsey’s planning committee.

However, potential benefits to the local economy have always been highlighted and this latest application is supported by West Lindsey’s Growth and Projects Team.

Their consultation report states: “In this application, it is important to acknowledge that bringing more visitors into the district, who will use all the services available, will undoubtedly aid the economy of the district for local businesses and residents.”

The team is also pleased with the style of cabin and the proposed landscaping, adding: “It is clear that a lot of thought has gone into mitigating any impact on the views of the landscape from a range of vantage points. “

This view is not shared by all and while there has been some local support, the application has also received comments from residents concerned about additional traffic and such a ‘large scale’ development.
