“I would like to thank clerk Amanda Bushell and Michelle Moss (assistant town clerk) very much as they have worked hard during the epidemic and are still working very hard not only to make sure business is as near as possible to normal but also to make sure that everybody is safe.

“The same to the cemetery team who have been working very hard to keep the cemetery in the superb state that it is in.

“It really is looking good and I just would like to put on record mine and the rest of the council’s grateful thanks.

“I would also like to say a big thank you to everybody in Horncastle who has done so much during the outbreak.

“There are a lot of people who have worked very hard –Horncastle Scrubbers working at Stanhope Hall has been wonderful to see and we’ve had a superb response as they have made over 3,500 sets of scrubs which is a fantastic record for this area.

“Also the Food Larder –Isabelle and her team have worked so hard there – and the Urban Outreach Foundation Project have cooked meals and helped man telephones and also Jenny and her volunteers who have delivered prescriptions and done shopping for people.

“But on top of that, there has been an awful lot of people in the town who have looked after neighbours, friends, elderly relatives and those that are shielding.

“I think it shows what a marvellous community Horncastle is in the way everybody has come together to do so much.

“I also want to thank everybody who was attended the community clear up event.

“I have never seen such a good attendance by councillors and other members of organisations in the town and by Horncastle Trade Association as well.

“I thought it was a tremendous effort and I would like to thank everybody associated with organising the event and those that came out to help.”
