Tributes to former ELDC tourism manager

Councillor Jill Makinson-Sanders led tributes to one of the district council’s former tourism managers at last week’s Full Council meeting.

Alison Macdonald, from Louth, tragically died at the age of 49 last month, leaving behind two teenage sons.

Coun Makinson-Sanders, who represents St Mary’s ward in Louth, told fellow councillors: “(Alison) headed up economic development for quite a number of years, she was behind all the Wolds tourism strategy, and she started up the Rosebud scheme for grading our holiday properties.

“At the age of 49, it’s a tragic loss. Please remember Alison in your prayers.”

Coun Fiona Martin, who represents the Horncastle ward, echoed Coun Makinson-Sanders’ comments, referring to Alison as a ‘very valued member of staff’.
