'Unique celebration of our seaside': Sutton-on-Sea set to swing back in time as Vintage on Sea returns
Seaside nostalgia, vintage glamour and family fun will once again take centre stage in Sutton-on-Sea next month as the popular Vintage on Sea festival returns for a third year.
The free event will take place on Saturday, July 4, from 10am to 5pm, transforming the town into a celebration of bygone seaside holidays with live entertainment, classic vehicles, music, dance and plenty of retro charm.
Since launching in 2024, Vintage on Sea has become one of the area's most eagerly anticipated summer events, attracting thousands of visitors to Sutton-on-Sea's streets and seafront.
Organisers promise a packed programme of entertainment throughout the day, with performers from Lincolnshire and beyond helping bring the sights, sounds and spirit of the traditional British seaside to life.

Among the attractions will be street theatre favourites The Shenanigans, the eye-catching Giant Seagulls, Octopus Ocean, A La Puppet Carte and HMS Pinafore, alongside live music and dance performances from Skegness and Alford Silver Bands, Rhythm and Steel and Lincolnshire Lindy Hop Clubs.
Visitors can also browse a retro market, admire classic cars and embrace the vintage theme by dressing up and joining in the fun.
The festival has been developed through the Story Tellers project, part of the South and East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership's Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation programme, working alongside local partners including Sutton Event Group.
Sutton-on-Sea has been identified as one of the project's Creative Hub locations, linked to the town's Seaview Colonnade, with events such as Vintage on Sea helping to bring communities together while showcasing the area's growing cultural offer.
Councillor Graham Marsh, East Lindsey District Council's deputy leader and representative on the NPO Culture Board, said the event had quickly established itself as a highlight of the local calendar.
"Vintage on Sea has quickly become a highlight of the annual events calendar in Sutton-on-Sea and wider East Lindsey, and it continues to be a fantastic example of what can be achieved when communities come together to celebrate their roots," he said.
"It's wonderful to see the event return for its third year, bringing creativity, entertainment and a real sense of pride to the area.
"There is something for everyone to enjoy, and I would encourage residents and visitors alike to come along, get involved and experience this unique celebration of our seaside heritage."
Entry to the festival is free and organisers are encouraging people of all ages to join in the celebrations and enjoy a trip down memory lane by the sea.
Free parking will be available for visitors at Broadway Car Park and Furlongs Field football pitch throughout the event.
