UPDATE: Police identify man and woman who died after their car plunged into waterway in Chapel St Leonards

India Plaice, 21, and her father, Daniel, who was aged 52 were travelling a white Fiat Punto when the tragedy happened.

Despite the efforts of members of the public and the emergency services, Daniel was pronounced dead at the scene.

His daughter was taken to hospital but later died.

There were no other people in the vehicle.

Sea Road and Skegness Road were both closed following the incident.
