Van driver arrested after man from Boston area dies in accident on A16

A man from the Boston area died on Friday after a crash on the A16.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened on the road between Surfleet and Sutterton roundabouts.

The collision involved two vehicles - a blue Scania HGV and a white Ford Transit van.

The passenger in the van, a man in his 30s from the Boston area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the van, a man in his 30s, was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, with injuries which police have described as not life-threatening nor life-altering.

He has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The road was closed for several hours following the incident.
