Visitors invited to enjoy a peaceful open day at Lea Fields Crematorium near Gainsborough
Lea Fields Crematorium will be opening its doors to the public on Saturday, May 30, to take an informal look around the facilities and gardens.
The open day will run from 10am to 2pm, with members of the crematorium team on hand throughout the day to answer questions and offer tours to the chapel, ‘Beyond the Curtain’ and the crematorium’s facilities.
Visitors will be able to learn more about the crematorium’s services and explore the Garden of Remembrance and Reflection Pool, as well as enjoy the landscaped hillside grounds, which offer striking views across the countryside.
Light refreshments will be available and the event is free to attend.

A special feature of the day will be a live calligraphy demonstration by Stephen Foley, managing director and second-generation craftsman at Hilton Studio.
Stephen, who is part of a team of craftspeople who serve crematoria across the county, will be demonstrating his traditional calligraphy skills in person, inscribing artwork throughout the day.
Deborah Balsdon, Crematorium manager at Lea Fields, said: “Our open day is a chance for people to visit Lea Fields in a relaxed and welcoming setting, meet our dedicated team and learn more about what we do.
“We know that many people feel unsure about crematorium services, so opening our doors helps us answer questions and showcase the peaceful environment we have here.”
Coun Emma Bailey, ward member for Lea, said: “Lea Fields Crematorium is an important place for many families in our community.
“This open day is a valuable opportunity for residents to see the care that goes into the site, from services provided to the beautiful gardens, and speak directly to the diligent team who work here.”
