Volunteer presenters wanted for new community radio station covering Sleaford area
A new community radio station created for the Sleaford area is appealing for volunteers to get on board.
NKRadio is a not-for-profit online radio station created to serve communities across North Kesteven.

Launching in May, it was brainchild of station manager Rhian WIlliams who says he wanted to “bridge a gap” for smaller, rural communities that “often struggle to gain coverage through larger county-wide media outlets”.
"I wanted to make a local station for the actual community, so people could get in contact with us and put their stories out there,” Rhian adds. "We even received a wonderful nod of encouragement during our launch from local MP Caroline Johnson via a letter from the House of Commons.

"We are actively building up a dedicated team and are currently looking for more volunteer presenters – including people who want to broadcast directly from home using our portable broadcast software.”
The station’s programming is designed to appeal to listeners of all ages, offering a "mixed vibe" that includes themed music hours - such as hits from the ‘80s or ‘90s - specialist shows, local stories, and community updates.
“We also love championing smaller local companies that don't always get the spotlight, visiting their premises for heart-to-heart broadcast interviews,” said Rhian. “We operate strictly as a non-profit group. All sponsorship income is entirely reinvested back into our operating costs and community outreach.”
Residents can tune in via their website, nkradio.co.uk, or through various streaming apps and internet radio directories.
