Members of the public are not allowed to go into the library, so books will be handed over to them at the doorway.

If they do not have a reservation, they can still borrow a book – a volunteer will look for it and issue it to them if it is available.

All books being returned will be placed in a box and put into quarantine for 72 hours before being returned to the shelves.

There is no access to the library’s computers for the time being.

All volunteers will wear masks while in the library.

“We are eager to get up and running again, and look forward to borrowers returning,” a spokesman for the library said.

For more on the library, search for it on Facebook under Donington Library.
