Horncastle and District Scrubs needs more home sewers to keep up with orders from frontline NHS workers and the community.

One of the founders of the group, Tracy Leyland, said: “We need competent sewers to make the scrubs.”

Pre-cut kits can either be collected from the ‘scrub hub’ at Stanhope Hall, or delivered to home addresses and picked up when work is completed.

Tracy added: “We’re only a phone call away, if you do need help.”

The scrub hub is open six days a week from 10am to 2pm and has a dedicated helpline.

One of the most prolific sewers at the scrub hub is Trisha Wright. While being furloughed from her role as trainee duty manager at the Admiral Rodney Hotel, Trisha has worked tirelessly making scrubs. She explained: “If you can craft sew, you can make scrubs.”
