Dinah Ward, who owns the Horncastle Cake Art Shop in North Street, is hoping at least 100 people will sign her petition which she intends to send to NatWest’s Regional Managing director John Maude.

She said: “This bank always seems busy. I would dispute they are saving a fortune closing it

“They have sent a letter saying we can use the nearest branches in Skegness (21 miles) or Louth (13 miles).

“Business customer have to pay in cash which they cannot do on a computer.

“They have offered the alternative of paying cash into the Post Office but with two banks closing will the Post Office cope?”
