PHOTO GALLERY UPDATE WEDNESDAY 8.10AM: Blaze leaves disused Boston sports hall severely damaged

Fire has severely damaged a disused sports hall on a college campus in Boston overnight.

Crews from three stations, Boston, Donington and Spalding, were called to the blaze near to Boston College in Mill Road which broke out some time on Tuesday night.

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus while using water hose reels to put out the fire which left a wooden stage and the sports hall’s roof badly damaged.

After the fire, a tweet from the college said: “The fire that has taken place on Mill Road (on Tuesday) evening (was at a building which is) no longer part of Boston College and now belongs to Cyden Homes.”

TUESDAY 8.10PM: People are being warned to avoid the area after reports of a fire at the Boston College Campus this evening (Tuesday).

Lincolnshire Fire and rescue have reported 20 minutes ago that it has crews currently in attendance at a building fire on the college campus on Mill Road, Boston.

A fire service spokesman says: “We have four crews from Boston, Donington and Spalding with aerial ladder platform on Mill Road, Boston dealing with a fire in a disused sports hall. Update to follow.”
