Gala queen Natasha Gregory, eight, was crowned by the Isle of Axholme Lions at 1pm then the free fun-for-all really began.

Stunning displays were given by Kimberley’s School of Dance, Showstoppers Fire Performer and Fusion Martial Arts. And there were plenty of willing victims for the famous Luddington egg throw and tug-of-war. The best dog competition also attracted fur-nomenal entries!

Other goodies included a licensed bar, barbecue, afternoon tea with scones, face-painting and kids’ bouncy castle, Andy the clown, fun fair games, stalls, tombola and raffle as well as an ‘It’s a knockout’ style football tournament that was won by Appleby and Frodingham.

Gala committee member Stacey Meggitt said: “We had a really good crowd and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.”

Proceeds from the day will go towards maintenance of village playing fields.
