PICTURES: VW bug catches on in Gainsborough

Beetle mania hit the streets of Gainsborough on Sunday.

Owners of the iconic ‘bug’ gathered in the Market Square to display their classic vehicles at the special event.

Marcus Di Lenardo, founder of The Air Cooled Travellers which organised the event, described it as an “amazing day” and thanked everyone who was involved.

“After our first one in Retford and second one in Worksop, Gainsborough was a blast,” he said.

“We had a total of 38 cars and busses and even an air-cooled Porsche.”

The event had been rescheduled from March last months due to bad weather.
